This Ajanta cave, located near Ajanta village in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra state, is a mythological and beautifully carved cave. This Ajanta cave is located at a distance of about 100 km from Aurangabad. The Ajanta Caves are beautifully carved caves cut into the hills in the shape of a horseshoe.


There are 30 caves found in this Ajanta cave. It is told about this cave that the old heritage was built around the second or third century. The cave was built in two phases in ancient times. Cave numbers 9, 10, 12, 13, and 15 were constructed in the first phase and the rest of the caves were constructed in the second phase.


Cave number 9 is considered the most mythological of all the caves built here. This cave was first discovered by a military officer in the 19th century i.e. during 1819 AD. When he went hunting with his team here. That's why this cave was seen for the first time by him and from that time this cave became very popular.



At present, tourists come here in large numbers from different regions of India as well as from abroad. This Ajanta cave has also been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage present. This cave was included in the World Heritage List in 1983 AD. This cave is associated with Buddhism. After visiting here, in most of the caves, you can see many beautiful carvings and paintings related to Buddhism.
